Who is responsible
YMAI International is a new, unregistered student-led initiative. Matthew Williams, its founder and current organiser, is the contact responsible for handling website enquiries. Reach us at matthewlloydw@gmail.com.
What we collect
The enquiry form asks for your name, email, country, role or education stage, the way you want to get involved, and any optional institution or message you provide. It also records the site, submission time, reference, and processing status.
Do not include medical records, identity documents, private school records, or other sensitive information. If you are under 18, complete the form with a parent, guardian, or school adviser.
Why we use it
We use your information to respond to your enquiry and discuss the activities or role you selected. Submission does not create a membership, enrol you in an event, or add you to an unrelated marketing list. We rely on your agreement to this contact; you can withdraw it by emailing us.
Where it is stored
The websites are hosted by Vercel. Enquiries and contact settings are stored in Neon Postgres. These providers may process information outside Jamaica and your country. Authorised YMAI administration is currently restricted to the founder’s approved Google account. Google sign-in is for administrators, not public visitors.
Retention and your choices
Our policy is to review enquiries at least annually and delete or anonymise inactive enquiries within 12 months of the last meaningful contact unless a stated legal requirement or continuing request justifies keeping them. This review is an administrative responsibility; the website does not automatically enrol you in a longer-term register.
You can ask for access, a correction, deletion, or an end to further contact. Email us with your reference if you have it. A parent or guardian can contact us about a younger participant’s information.
Cookies and technical records
Public pages do not use advertising trackers or optional analytics. The form uses a temporary browser identifier to prevent duplicate submissions on retries. Administrator sign-in uses necessary security and session cookies. Hosting providers may keep standard security logs; rate limiting uses a short-lived hashed network identifier, not a publicly visible IP record.
Changes
This notice covers the founding website. We will update it before materially changing how information is used. Questions or complaints can be sent to the contact above; you may also contact the appropriate data-protection regulator.
