One shared purpose. Local leadership, local knowledge, and room to grow.

How the network fits together

YMAI International

Shared mission, charter, brand standards, chapter recognition, and exchange across countries.

Country chapters

National coordination, local programme planning, school relationships, and country-specific safeguards.

Student associations

School and university groups, led by students and supported by a staff adviser or approved adult.

Start a country chapter

We’re inviting students to help establish YMAI in their countries. Start with a small organising team, a clear local need, and a trusted adult or institutional adviser.

  1. Introduce your team. Tell us where you are, who you hope to reach, and what you would like to organise.
  2. Plan the foundations. Agree local eligibility, safeguarding, leadership, and any legal or school requirements.
  3. Receive recognition. International approves the chapter in writing before the YMAI name is used publicly.
  4. Start with one useful activity. Review what worked and share it with the network.

Recognition is an internal affiliation, not legal registration or permission to raise funds. A country chapter may be one organisation with several local student associations.
